Build storage chests at your stronghold and separate construction materials from other loot. Crafting can use base storage in the pre-release game, but a chest in town may not work the same way. If materials appear missing, move them into your bag and check again.
Set up storage you can actually use
- Check the chest requirements in your build menu and gather the listed materials.
- Place storage near the workshop you return to between trips.
- Rename one chest for construction supplies and another for the rest of your loot.
- Put away materials you do not need on the road, keeping your immediate supplies with your character.
Can you craft from chests?
Base chests can supply crafting ingredients. That does not mean every chest in every location is connected: town storage may be unavailable to your current station. If a recipe reports missing ingredients, test with the required materials in your bag before moving or rebuilding anything.

Keep useful Droop gel, treant hearts and glass vials if you are working on early crafting recipes.
Before your next gathering trip
Clear space, keep only the supplies needed for your next objective and decide what you are collecting. Returning with a full bag is less disruptive when there is already a place for the materials at home.
Storage and co-op worlds
Your inventory travels with your hero, while buildings stay in their world. Do not assume materials left in a base will appear when you move to a different world. Agree which world your group will use before investing in shared storage.
