Learn the dodge timing in the opening area, follow the route toward Earlwood, then complete Faustas’s shelter and campfire objective. Build a reliable routine of fighting, gathering and returning home before spending resources on a complicated build.
1. Get comfortable before you push ahead
The opening Lost Caverns are a good place to practice committing to an attack and leaving room to dodge. Watch an enemy complete its swing before answering. If you spend every opening attacking, you may have nothing left when you need to move.
2. Turn the first camp into a useful stop
In the supplied newer gameplay, Faustas asks for a tent and small campfire. Dismantling the ruined camp provides materials (16:15–18:12). Check those structures before going on a long resource hunt. Use the campfire to prepare supplies for the next trip.
3. Read your loot before selling it
Materials can include recipe clues, and equipment can change what your character does well. Keep ingredients for things you intend to craft. Sort building materials into storage when it becomes available so that a full inventory does not cut every outing short.
4. Give each trip a purpose
Choose a quest objective, gather useful resources on the way, then return to turn it in and improve your character. The supplied videos show optional local events rewarding experience; they can break up repeated fights, but the rewards and safest routes depend on your build.
5. Invest around the abilities you use
Look at your spell requirements and current skill tree before spreading progression across unrelated stats. The newer footage shows a large skill tree; the developer also announced an overhaul for Early Access. Old allocations should be treated as examples, not a build to copy point for point.
Before your next expedition
- Check your healing and supplies.
- Keep space for loot and crafting materials.
- Read your tracked objective and destination.
- Know which defensive action you can use when a fight goes wrong.
